Professor Lewis earned a diploma of nursing from Mercy School of Nursing, ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½, her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Pennsylvania State University, and her master’s in nursing from the University of Pennsylvania. She has been a nurse for over 35 years. During her career she has served as a clinical nursing instructor at The University of Pennsylvania, a clinical nurse at Thomas Jefferson University, Department of Cardiology/Electrophysiology for 4 years, and she worked for 20 years as a nurse at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where she was worked as a medical-surgical nurse, an ICU nurse in the CCU, a research nurse, and a clinical nurse for the department of Electrophysiology. Professor Lewis holds certification in Medical-Surgical Nursing from the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is certified as an Acute/Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialists from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. She is a member The American Association of Critical Care Nurses, Sigma Theta Tau, and the American Nurses Association.
